To begin thinking about submitting for the Field of the Year.
SFMA’s Field of the Year program awards top honors to members’ fields for innovative management, effective budget use, and preparing the safest playing surfaces for athletes. Plan to submit a field in this program.
Eligible fields include those used for baseball, softball, soccer, football and sporting grounds (which is a field used for non-mainstream sports, such as rugby and lacrosse).
Although the deadline is Oct. 15, there are several requirements that must be met prior to that date. A very important requirement is to conduct 4 PCIs: three must be in-season; one must be conducted in the off season.
The 2017 application is on-line for your review. The Awards Committee may be making a few minor adjustments to it, but the 2018 one will be available in April.
