Next month, you will receive a link to the form to indicate your interest in board service for 2022. The Nominating Committee encourages all members to consider board service. The requirements are few, but candidates must have a passion for the industry and be dedicated to serving SFMA. Prior committee service or serving on other organizations’ boards is highly recommended.
The positions that are open include:
The At Large position is open to voting members from any category of membership. That includes members who represent Commercial, K-12, Parks & Rec, Professional Facilities, Higher Education and Academic. This position is a one-year term with eligibility for a second term. The remainder of the Director positions are two-year terms with eligibility for a second term.
Board service usually involves four, in-person board meetings yearly, participation in the annual SFMA conference and chairing one or more committees. This year SFMA has held two of its board meetings virtually, but recently held its summer meeting in-person.
The 2022 slate of candidates will be presented to the membership in November with electronic voting closing in mid-December.
