The Andersons to expand facility to manufacture professional turf products

The Andersons, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANDE) announced the expansion of its plant nutrient manufacturing facility in Seymour, Ind. This expansion will allow the facility to produce fertilizers and combination products for the professional turf market.

Today, the Seymour facility operates as a fertilizer granulation plant and nutrient storage location. The Andersons will increase its capabilities through the installation of a fertilizer blending and impregnation production line and additional warehousing for raw materials and finished goods.

The Seymour facility is located 280 miles southwest of The Andersons’ main production location in Maumee, Ohio. The Seymour expansion will allow The Andersons to better serve professional turf customers in Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and additional markets to the south.

The Andersons expects to complete construction and begin shipping turf products from Seymour in time for the spring 2020 season.

“We’re excited to grow in a way that better positions us to serve both current and future customers,” said Chuck Anderson, vice president of sales for The Andersons Plant Nutrient Group. “Logistics can be a big expense in the professional turf market. Expanding the capabilities of the Seymour facility, from production to warehousing and shipping, allows us to extend our reach further south while saving these customers both time and money.”
