Manager, Field Operations

The Richmond Kickers Pro Soccer Club, an independent USL League One team, and Richmond Ivy Soccer Club, a new-to-market USL Women’s pre-professional team, located in Richmond, VA, are actively seeking a full-time Manager of Field Operations to assist in the oversight of all sports turf operations at City Stadium as well as help curate a first-class experience for all events held at the venue. This role will report directly to the Director of Field Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations at City Stadium of playing surface maintenance, game-day logistics, and event operations. This includes mowing, painting, cultural practices, etc.
  • Assist in the required field setup for each Kickers and Ivy home match and training session. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Benches, goals, corner flags, game balls, sideline products, beverages, locker rooms, and additional team needs.
  • Assist in the management of additional stadium events.
  • Assist the Director of Player Personnel with locker room operations such as Uniform Management, General Cleaning, and Meal Preparation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly venue for pro teams, attending fans and patrons of non-matchday events.
  • Assist in day-to-day operations at City Stadium such as facility maintenance/cleanliness, game-day logistics, and event operations.


  • Two- or Four-Year Sports Turf Degree is preferred, but not required.
  • 1+ years of prior sports field management experience required.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Evidence of being a strategic thinker and problem solver with the ability to develop and implement processes and plans.
  • An excellent communicator with attention to detail, and handiness.
  • Prior sports turf experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and Holidays.
  • Ability to lift upwards of 50 pounds.
