Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, oversees daily work that supports the County’s preventive maintenance plan. This position performs safety inspections including buildings, vehicles, equipment, and tools; oversees customer service; maintains staff schedules; ensures routine, corrective maintenance indoors and outdoors; ensures daily cash receipts; and coordinates tasks performed by contractors.

This position supervises assigned staff, volunteers, and seasonal staff; and oversees commercial contract workers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Completes maintenance, repairs, and work orders.
  • Maintains and repairs vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Maintains outdoor areas and prepares tournament fields.
  • Maintains records and reports of maintenance operations.
  • May perform other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; preferably with coursework in building trades or grounds maintenance depending on assigned area and four (4) years of related work experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or building trades, depending on assigned area inclusive of one (1) year of lead level or supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hold or obtain a CDL (Class A) with passenger, airbrake, and/or tanker endorsements.
  • Hold or obtain a Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s/Fertilizer Applicator License.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements:

  • Pass pre-employment criminal, credit and DMV background checks.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification).
  • First Aid/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire;
  • OSHA certifications including forklift, bucket truck, and lift truck are required within department timeframes.
  • County supervisory, e-learning, and MOAT training as required.
