Athletic Facility Operations Internship

The Athletic Facility Operations Internship is intended to provide individuals with an extension of their experience/studies in primarily Athletic Facilities/Grounds (Turf grass Management, Sport Management), as well as, gaining experience in Facilities and Event Management Operations. This position will be responsible for overall maintenance of Division III playing surfaces, surrounding areas, etc. This experience will prepare the individual for a position as Head Groundskeeper, Assistant Groundskeeper, Athletic Facilities Management and Athletic Event Management and other related positions. The duration of the internship will be a semester long and can be taken during Fall, Spring, or summer semesters.


  • Assist in all aspects of Athletic Field Maintenance including mowing, fertilizing, edging, string trimming. ETC
  • Assist with Game Days – set up and breakdown of field and facility, on-field maintenance, event management.
  • Assist with Summer Camps, External Event
  • Assisting customer’s questions, comments and concerns
  • Assisting in Event clean-up
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage changing demands.
  • Must be able to work nights, evenings, and weekends
  • Successful experience working in a team environment.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with all team members and customers.
